It’s funny that no matter how hard you try, there’s always a small part of you that wants your best friend to be the most miserable person in the world. You want them to suffer and cry. You want them to hurt like they mean it. Maybe you’re a sadist, or maybe it’s because you want to be the one that mends their heart together and be the one bathed in their tears. Or maybe you’re just possessive. Whatever it is, you try to suppress it. You feel awful and you writhe on the inside from the thought of your sheer selfishness, but you can’t keep it down and it shows through cracks in your conscience. You know, that if you ever let yourself say what you wanted, you would end up alone.

I don't know where it's going, but I do like it.
